An Exclusive Dinner & Lodging Package at Jail Hill Inn
2019 was a great year. We watched business soar and got to know so many more of you! This year, we want to try something new and exciting. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes not just to improve your stay at the Inn itself, but to make your overall experience in Galena even more amazing. We think we have found the answer!
We’ve taken the guest experience at Jail Hill Inn one step further, and partnered with our friends over at Brazen, a nationally recognized and highly acclaimed restaurant located near Galena, in Dubuque, Iowa. The Chef at Brazen Open Kitchen and Bar, once featured on Top Chef, is going to treat 6 lucky couples to an exclusive 6-course wine pairing dinner, right here at our Inn!
We’ll be hosting the event on May 6 and 7, 2020. The package will be available for booking on March 15. More details are offered below, but start clearing your calendars. Rooms will go fast!
Meet Chef Kevin Sharpf
Brazen is owned by head chef Kevin Sharpf, who prides himself on creating an authentic, progressive, yet approachable menu that highlights the seasonally fresh ingredients available in the midwest. Kevin’s goal is to craft thoughtfully unique plates that are relevant anywhere in the culinary world, but accessible to locals in and around Dubuque, Iowa.
Born and raised in Galena, Kevin attended the Le Cordon Bleu of Culinary Arts in Minneapolis, MN. His past culinary experiences include the Hotel Sofitel’s fine dining restaurant, La Fougasse, the acclaimed Restaurant Daniel in New York City, and a 6-year stint as the Executive Sous of Diamond Jo.
In 2014 Kevin received First Place at the Taste of Elegance competition and competed in the National Pork Summit in Napa Valley. In 2016 Kevin was named one of FSR magazines “40 under 40” Risings Stars. Kevin competed in season 16 of Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ and was awarded the 2019 Iowa Restaurant Association’s Chef of the Year. In November 2019, Kevin and his team were invited to the James Beard House in NYC as the Featured Chef for the “Dubuque Debut” dinner.
Introducing 3 Meals and a Cot
In keeping with our clever tradition of naming things after “jail” related experiences, we’ve decided to call this one-of-a-kind package
“3 Meals and a Cot.” Why? Well, it’s a commonly used phrase to distill down daily life in jail, and it also just so happens to describe what you’ll be getting with this incredible package. Now, for the details.
This incredible package is $995, and includes the following:
- 2 nights lodging at Jail Hill Inn for two (regularly a $750 value)
- Champagne and chocolates in your suite upon arrival
- 3-course gourmet breakfast each morning of your stay
- Our signature wine and cheese reception from 4 – 5:30
- 6-course wine pairing dinner on Wednesday, May 6 in the Jail Hill Inn Dining Room
- Transportation to and from Brazen’s restaurant* for a 2nd dinner on Thursday, May 7
*Dinner, drinks, and gratuity for the second dinner at Brazen’s restaurant are not included in the rate.
