- One of the most popular features at Chesnut Mountain Resort during the off season is the Farside Bike Park – a fantastic place to do some life-serviced mountain biking in the Galena area.
- Chestnut Mountain’s Alpine Slide is a thrilling and beautiful journey down the slopes. Strap yourself in, and race down the 2,050-foot course on nothing more than a sled (don’t worry – the journey is pretty controlled and safe). It’s fun, of course, but the real reason to take this ride is the panoramic view of the Mississippi River as you descend.
- For more great river views, take a ride on the Soaring Eagle Zip line. It’s an 800-foot, bucket seat zip line that flies 600 feet above the Mississippi River. To begin the ride, you’ll actually travel backward to the peak. Once you’re set free, you’ll reach thrilling speeds of up to 30 mph.
- You can also take Segway Tours at the resort – a great way to take in the views and explore the entire 220-acre property.
- After you’ve finished the more extreme adventures, unwind and have some fun on Chestnut Mountain’s Mini and Disc Golf courses.
