Breakfast is very special at Jail Hill Inn. Breakfast is served each day at the Inn’s first floor dining room between 9:00-10:00am. Chicago’s favorite Intellegensia coffee is ground and brewed each morning, in addition to a fine tea selection and fresh squeezed orange juice.
Breakfast begins with a seasonal first course which may include baked pears in the wintertime or berries, handmade granola and greek yogurt in the summer months, among other delicious favorites. The second course is our Bakery of the Day, which also celebrates the season with flavors of pumpkin, cranberries or blueberries or lemon and poppyseed. The third course will feature either a sweet or savory breakfast entree. These entrees may include a vegetable frittata with local grown breakfast meats, a chef’s choice omelet or Belgian waffles with a warm fruit compote and vanilla whipped cream.
Jail Hill Inn is eager and delighted to accommodate any dietary needs, from food allergies, diet plans, to food preferences and plain old dislikes, we are excited to prepare menus that fit your needs. During your reservation booking on the website, you can add those comments with your reservation or feel free to call the innkeeper anytime before your arrival and we will also confirm everything when you check in.
Afternoon Wine and Cheese
After a long day of driving or shopping downtown Galena, Jail Hill welcomes your arrival with a selection of choice cheeses, fruits and other delectable treats to enjoy. Pair that with a glass of the Inn’s select wines or buy a bottle and take to your room. Our wines include selected Reisling, Chardonnay, Malbec, Cabernet or Merlot. Additionally, we will have non- alcoholic beverages, tea, water or coffee. Guests are also welcome to bring their favorite wines, beer or mixed drinks to enjoy during their stay.
